North Country Food Bank’s business model is simple: use surplus food products from the food industry to feed hungry people. This enables us to serve 21 counties in northwest and west central Minnesota. We source food nationally, regionally, and locally and bring this food back to our warehouse in East Grand Forks, MN. Then we distribute it to our 220 agency partners that serve individuals struggling with hunger.
Local industries and farmers donate food for people in need.

We’re passionate about our work and inspiring others to generously participate in solving hunger. We are constantly working to increase food security because if you are hungry, nothing else matters.
On October 19, 2023, North Country celebrated its 40th anniversary! North Country has proudly served communities and agency partners across its 21-county service area in northwest and west central Minnesota since 1983.
Volunteers are thanked effusively by those finding it hard to stretch their finite resources over rising costs. Then, a family of volunteers work hard and get some well-deserved play in Bemidji.
