Jaclyn Aker and Brandon Heider of Frandsen Bank & Trust in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, presented Susie Novak, executive director of North Country Food Bank with a check in the amount of $3,000 on July 15, 2016. These funds will be used toward North Country’s building project. North Country must move its operations to a new facility in order to comply with the contractual obligations and safety requirements of Feeding America and other governing agencies. It is also the right thing to do in order to provide more food for people in need. North Country is eligible for $3 million in matching funds from state bonding funding. Thrivent Financial believes in taking action to help feed those in need. This past summer, Thrivent Financial sponsored a charitable giving tent at Hope Fest (a Christian rock festival) in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. North Country was one of the recipients of funds raised through Thrivent’s charitable giving tent. On July 21, 2016, Mike Paulson of Thrivent Financial, presented Susie Novak, the executive director of North Country Food Bank, with a check in the amount of $5,000. For every $1 received, North Country can provide enough food for 5 meals. Thank you Thrivent Financial!
