NCFB has a Volunteer Center that can accommodate large or small groups. Last year our Volunteers contributed over 13,000 hours.

Rules:
- All volunteers are expected to sign in upon arrival (providing all information requested on the sign-in sheet) and sign out at the end of their work period.
- A photo release and volunteer registration form must be completed prior to volunteering.
- Please leave purses, jewelry, and other valuables at home or locked in your car trunk. Necklaces and long earrings pose a safety concern in the warehouse. North Country Food Bank will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.
- Coats and personal belongings must be hung in designated areas.
- All volunteers should remain in the assigned work area.
- Please remember that clean-up is part of our work. Your assistance and cooperation are appreciated.
- No eating, drinking, running, or smoking in the warehouse area.
- Food is allowed in the break room and the warehouse office.
- Smoking is permitted outside and 25 feet away from the main building.
- Under no circumstances will any person be allowed to work in the warehouse while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Volunteers must enter and exit through the front door.
- If you cannot make a scheduled time, please inform the Volunteer Coordinator.
Use of Equipment:
- All electrical & mechanical equipment will be used by authorized personnel only.
- Be sure you are familiar with the Material Safety Data Sheets and their location.
Age Limit:
- The minimum age to volunteer is 12 years old. Volunteers between the ages of 12-15 must volunteer with an adult, and volunteers 16-17 must volunteer with permission.
- With youth groups, there must be one adult present for every 10 children.
Attire:
- The dress code at the Food Bank is casual and comfortable.
- Dress warmly in the winter -- layers are suggested, dress lightly in the summer. For sanitary reasons, tank tops are not permitted.
- Comfortable, safe footwear is absolutely necessary. Tennis shoes, work shoes, or boots are required. No open-toed shoes or sandals are permitted in the warehouse.
